DANA
- PETRA CANYONS
Someone has been removing fixed abseil equipment from Wadi
Feid, inconveniencing and endangering canyoners. It is now believed
the culprit has been found and understands the problems he was causing, so
hopefully this will now stop (August 2008, info from Terhaal).

Safety.
CLIMBS
IN THE PETRA AREA
Climbing is currently not allowed anywhere in the Petra Archaeological
Park (PAP), which extends from north of Beidah south beyond Wadi Tibn into
the new RSCN Reserve of Jebel Mas'uda. Discussions are currently taking place
between us, the PAP, The Petrra National Trust (PNT) and the RSCN, to ease
what we consider to be unjustifiable restrictions.
Until
restrictions are eased, the following climb descriptions are for the record
only and no new climbs should be done close to the old city or any
tourist or archaeological site in the PAP.
See Petra
Climbs for descriptions of these routes.
